Favorite Spring Moments 2011
Gabbie loves filling up the bird feeder for us! We go thru birdseed fast when we have it.
Gabbie loves to help chad fix anything and everything. Chad is the best for letting her help and teaching her how to help!
Gabbie found a new chill spot. I took a pic of her the first time she did it. It is not the best thing to do with the sofa and I want her to be respectful of furniture ,but it was quite funny.
Thanksgiving Point Gardens Tulip Festival. Such beauty!

Worthwhile Months... Afterall
Back in Dec I was dreading this time of year. I just mean the cold nasty weather, and the fact that life seems to come to a standstill in some ways during Jan and Feb. I am so happy that we are almost thru Feb now! We have been healthy the last 6-7 weeks which has been so nice. I hope this trend continues! I thought I would give and update on all of us just for fun because it has been awhile. I don't post much and I honestly don't know if anyone reads this blog anymore...but here ya go.

Chad: Ok so this guy is busy. Let me say it again..BUSY with work. I have never seen him more swamped. Like 50-60 hr work weeks. Since becoming an official Architect this last summer, responsibilities and "get done now" lists grow. I do not know how he manages to get everything done that needs to be done for the dozen projects that are "his". Chad you have impressive work ethic. On top of work pressure he still manage to play and help with Gabbie every day! Thank you for working so hard so we can enjoy life.
Gabbie: I have one phrase. Potty Training. Since we have been home a lot lately we have been working on tackling this huge task. I am really proud of her. It is proving to be quite the process but we are making progress! Some days Gabbie will go with no pee accidents all day. Other days it is like we take a step back, but that's ok. She has yet to poop in the potty, but I know that will come. I have tried not forced this on her at all. We have plenty of time! The last thing I want is for this experience to back fire. She is also becoming very good at using her imagination and talks to me non-stop all day long. We play lots of games together as a family which is so fun. She is a great sleeper and napper. Most afternoons she will sleep for 2-3 hours which is good because that is when I try to get everything with the house done. Nights have been great too. She will still wake up occasionally and come into our room or she will yell for me. It usually takes a hug and kiss and then she is back to sleep. I have been woken up several times lately to her talking in her sleep...hmmm...I don't think her brain ever rests! I love this girl. I can't believe she is almost 2 1/2. Oh and did I mention that she loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? Thank goodness we have some episodes on demand.
Heather: I have been reading some great parenting books. I have so much that I want to post about this subject - maybe someday I will have time to gather my thoughts! I love being a mom and I want to be the best mom I can be. I also have a new calling - 2nd counselor in our Primary Presidency. We are still getting organized. There are 130 kids in our primary ( all but a few are active). On top of that we also have about 50 nursery kids. I have my work cut out for me but I am up for the challenge. I finally painted a wall in Gabbie's play room with aspen trees. It turned out fun! I had my dad in town from Cali last week and my mom is here (Utah, Idaho) from Nauvoo this week and next. I am so blessed!!! I hope you all are doing well.

Christmas 2010

December
December was a crazy month for us. I am sure all of you would also say the same thing. We have had a great time though. We have spent a lot of time with family and friends and have truly enjoyed a beautiful Christmas season. Infact I would say this was the best Christmas to date for me probably because it was so much fun for Gabbie and that made me so happy! On Christmas Eve we got together with Chad's extended family at Great Gradma's and had dinner, and played games. Then we came home and as a family we read the story of Jesus's birth in Luke, it was so special! One of those precious memories that I want to continue each year. After hearing the story Gabbie then repeated the story in her own words!

Other December Happenings:
We made lots of cookies for our neighbors. It was a fun and messy project for Gabbie and I. She has the sprinkle job down pat.
We went and had breakfast with Santa at Gardner Village. It was Grandpa Bob's work party and he invited the family to come. So Gabbie did sit on Santa's lap despite her hesitation at first. I don't think she was too excited about it but she did get a goodie bag which she loved.

This year for Chad's work party we got to eat at Carver's in Sandy for dinner. It was delicious and it is always so fun to get together with the people he works with. I love seeing him in his element. He is so comfortable around these guys and is always cracking jokes the whole time with them. It is a really great party every year. It makes me very greatful for Chad's boss and his job. Then we drove to SLC and got dessert at Red Butte Cafe before attending the play It's A Wonderful Life at Pioneer Theatre.
My brother and his family came to Utah from Texas to spend time here with family for Christmas. They stayed with us one night and it was great to see them. Gabbie had lots of fun with all her cousins - especially her younger cousin Daphne. She played and followed her around the whole time she was here!

Temple Square
You can't live in SLC and not go see the Christmas Lights this time of year. The temple beams and the "True meaning of Christmas" is so alive on the temple grounds. I find that I look forward to this trip annually because of the peace that I can feel. I love having this as one of our family traditions. Gabbie was so cute all bundled up.
November Fun
Now that the winter weather has settled in, we try to play with friends atleast a few times a week to make our days inside the house more bearable! Gabbie also loved checking out the fresh new snow and playing in it. She ate her fair share of that storm.
Gabbie loves helping dad clear the driveway! Did we mention that we get some nasty wind at our house? Well we do. In the winter it seems worse. Also our street never seems to get plowed until like 2 days after it snows- so it is quite entertianing to watch the cars try to get out. We have learned to gun it as we try to back out of the driveway! We will continue hoping we don't get stuck trying to leave our subdivision!
