MACIE GIRL

Day 1
Day 1

Day 5
3 Weeks
I am finally blogging. Its hard to believe that our Macie is 5 months old already! Time is going by so fast. We all ADORE her. The day Macie was born she smiled at me. That ultimately is what sold me on her name which means, "Happy". We are so glad she is part of our family. Every time we are out with Macie we get compliments on how cute she is. Everyone loves her red Mohawk hair! Her little personality fits right into our family. She is so easy going, hardly fussy and is content for the most part with just hanging out discovering life. She is eating and growing so well. Nursing takes up a lot of my time and energy, but I am fully committed to it for a long list of reasons. I feel it is the best gift I can give to her at this point in her life. She is our Rolly Polly and likes to sleep on her tummy. She is beginning to scoot/crawl and growls at us on command...sometimes :) I am terrified for this upcoming stage. Gabbie is such a great big sister and she has adjusted to having a sister even better than I hoped. She is constantly aware of Macie and is always helping us take care of her. She wants to hug, hold and kiss her all day long! Gabbie can get Macie to laugh so hard! It is adorable. Gabbie is already planning things for the two of them to do together in the future. I cherish the bond that I see developing and I am trying to enjoy every day with my girls. I love watching Chad and Macie together. Chad is an incredible dad to our girls and he thinks Macie is the cutest thing in the world! I feel so blessed. Life is good. So a lot of people who didn't know Gabbie as a "baby" ask if Macie looks like Gabbie did when she was younger. I tried to find a couple of pics when they are same ages/poses to show. We think they totally look alike but you can decide for yourself!

Wow...it has been months!

So it is impossible to capture the last 4 months in one short post, but I will at least post a few pics:)Let's just say that I have faded away from the blogger world which I am actually ok with...so many other things take up my time ( playing, primary, re-doing all 3 bedrooms upstairs, family, meetings, joyschool, pregnancy, primary) :) That being said,  I also realize that I have not even mentioned that fact that we are adding another baby girl to our little family very soon! I am 36 weeks prego right now! So basically anytime in the next month she could be here! Due date is May 31 or May 24...long story. Pregnancy has been an adventure with a 3 1/2 year old. I don't like to complain too much but it has been a lot harder this go round for many reasons. I am eager to feel like myself again and I cant stand having less energy! We are sooooo excited for this next chapter and I won't lie,  a little nervous too. Gabbie is going to be such a great big sister! She talks about it every single day and seems to totally comprehend what is about to happen which does give me moments of bliss and puts my worry at ease. I am sure this will be an adjustment for all, and hard days are guaranteed, but we are hoping for a smooth transition. In the meantime we are spending as much time together with our family of 3. We cherish this time with just our Gabbie. She is so smart, funny, talented and thoughtful!
Valelntines Tea Party at our House!
Easter Egg Fun! Grandma Kristy has come to visit us twice this year already and Gabbie always has such a great time playing with her!

December 2011

Chad and Gabbie at Temple Square! Chad had some serious facial hair for a few months!Sitting on Santa's lap at Grandpa Bob's Christmas breakfast!Gabbie reading to her friend Grace a few days before Christmas. This is a new favorite activity and she will "read/tell the story" to anyone who will let her.Christmas Eve Gillman Family Party. Gabbie was a shepherd during the Christmas story pageant. She did so good standing there while we read the story from the scriptures.

I think the before and after shots are funny. Here is the before.

Sittin in her new camp chair.

Fishin with dad.

The after shot. I will say this is one reason why I like having the home teacher room afterall. It is a good Christmas morning nook.

Miss Gabbie's favorite gift. She has been talking about wanting a scooter for months! Grandma & Grandpa Spencer saved the day, and have had this stashed for months. She has rode it outside a few times and inside as well. Looking forward to spring weather so we can ride it lots more. It was a wonderful Christmas!! We feel so blessed. I also must say that I love how we were able to spend Christmas morning together as a little fam. We were able to take our time getting up (Gabbie slept in till 8:00 am ) and we took our time opening gifts. Church was at 1:00 which gave us the perfect amount of time to enjoy the morning. Gabbie was very thoughtful and thankful for her new things. She wanted Chad and I to open just as many gifts as she did. We hope that everyone had a magical Christmas as well.

October Fall Fun

Gabbie dancing on stage and milkin a cow at Cornbelly's. We went twice this year! Well Gabbie went twice. Once with me and once with Chad.

Wheeler Farm! Love this place. Stokton and Gabbie loved it too.

Even though she has kinda a sad face - I love this pic of her.

Gabbie singing/performng for Chad and I. Gotta love the firehat.

Preschool Halloween Party. She decided to dress up as a princess for this!

She wanted to be a cat for several weeks leading up to Halloween. It was an easy costume, so of course we went with that. She did not want to dress up on Halloween though. She was mad at me for making her dress up. But we had a great time trick of treating! Watching out the front window for trick or treaters. We had a ton. The first group rang our bell at 5:15 pm. October was a great month! . We spent so much time outside, we already miss the warm weather!

Birthday Party Magic

We celebrated Gabbie's birthday last week! I can't believe I have a 3 year old. We had lots of fun the entire day and Gabbie was so cute with her birthday requests. There were a few birthday requests: Friends, balloons, cupcakes, decorations, games, singing and party hats of course!

All things that I could totally handle and I feel she is totally deserving of :) She has been using her imagination for months now envisioing her birthday party. She has been pretending to have birthday parties with her animal friends and babies. She has an incredible memory and can recall details really well. I can't even tell you the number of times she has talked about her party last year. I hope she can look back on her 3 year old party and remeber how special the day was! We love you Gabbie, more than anything in the world!

First trip to Build a Bear

We went downtown and stopped at Build a Bear this past weekend. I wasn't sure if we would build a bear, but they were having a special, and Gabbie does love stuffed animals and so we decided to do it!! She did great filling up her bear with Fluff.

Giving her bear an air bath was her favorite part. She did it several times. I will say that the outfit choices were kinda weird. Gabbie was trying to go for just a classic summer outfit I think - but of course she chose the silver sparkle shoes.

She named her bear Addison. At first she really wanted a blue bear. She was not interested in any of the other colors or animals. I was trying to convince her of a girly color with no success. At the last minute she saw this tourquiose bear and wanted it. She has been taking pretty good care of it thus far!

Lazy Summer evenings...I don't want to think about the snow that will be on the ground in a few months!

My little artist!! She is getting good at this painting/coloring stuff.Gabbie is on a dress kick. It has been for about the last 30 days straight. She wants to wear a dress everyday. I don't mind at all - why not get more use out of the dresses we have!

Cutest cookie face on the block! She looks so grown up in the picture. I can't believe she is almost 3!
